Autistic Events Inc. is a not for profit organization. Started in 2008 and incorporated in 2009 in the state of Tennessee by Elisa Moore Jett and Yvette Alexander. The mother and aunt of a very talented artist who happens to be in the autism spectrum. As our autistic population has increased dramatically in recent years we saw a need to start this project. In my never ending research of autism I have found many connections of the arts as a way of autistic persons expressing themselves. And the arts as being therapeutic in a healing way.
Our Mission : To bring understanding and acceptance to the public about autism. To enhance the lives of persons in the autism spectrum with art,music and theatre opportunities.
Our long term goals: To have a working studio and gallery, to provide employment opportunities to our adult autistic population.
Ways you can help:
If you are an artist, craftsman, musician etc. volunteer your time as a mentor.
Host a fundraiser anything from a bake sale to a golf tournament ,contact us for ideas.
Donate new or gently used art books, art and craft materials, music equipment, computers in working condition.
